Hundreds of Pieces of Art  

This is an ambitious collection of artistic aircraft tail numbers. Aviators have a special connection to their machinery. Each aircraft is unique in the way it handles and acts. To the untrained eye, many of these aircraft look the same. However, one of the easiest ways to tell them apart is by their unique identification number, paint schemes, and lettering also known as a “tail flash.”

The goal of this collection is to capture each US Air Force aircraft in each squadron currently flying. In the future I will also add historic aircraft of the past.

This phased rollout starts with aircraft from two squadrons out of over 200 U.S. flying squadrons.

Every aircraft, and its generations of pilots and maintainers have a story to tell. What piece of the story will you collect?
